Yankee Leisure Group will bring Amtrak Vacations and Railbookers to the Canadian travel trade, with the appointment of Cris David as vice-president of sales to oversee the launch of the two brands in Canada. A well-known travel executive and sales leader, David has served as president of Contiki Holidays Canada and Insight Vacations Canada. He has worked closely with agents across the country and is vastly familiar with the industry’s opportunities and challenges as it relates to the travel retail market.
“We are thrilled to launch our Railbookers and Amtrak Vacations brands in the Canadian market and are looking forward to having Cris David as our VP of Sales in Canada to lead the effort,” explained Frank Marini, President of Yankee Leisure Group.

Brochures and webinars coming
To mark the launch, both brands will be distributing 2020 brochures featuring exclusive short and long-haul products and experiences. Both brands serve as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for rail, accommodations, activities, transfers, ferries, and inner-city transportation for worldwide rail vacations.
Packages can be booked 24 months in advance (including pricing and schedules) and can be booked in Canadian dollars, with commission offered on all components of a client’s itinerary, YLG said. On Dec. 10, both brands will host a live webinar at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time to announce their launch into the market. Agents can register here.
